Manager Technical Service
Key purpose of the role: As the Technical Service Manager, you are responsible for providing technical support to our dealers, regional teams and customers globally. The scope of the role includes definition & implementation of workshop repair processes, dealer diagnostic tooling and workshop special equipment. Accountabilities:
- Responsible for providing the global dealer network with all required hardware and software tools to maintain and repair cars, and supports the dealer network when tools and processes are updated.
- Manage a team of Aftersales technical experts (Flying Doctors); adopting a “consultative” approach to dealer support.
- Provide structure and processes to support dealers via all communication methods,
- including direct contact to resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
- Supports the development and implementation of technical solutions and any business initiatives which provide effortless customer orientation
- Input’s to future strategies ensuring sustainability for volume growth, resource and structure planning, with new model introductions.
- Develop innovative dealer support processes using statistical data to analyse dealer technical performance and implement measures for improvement
- Provide technical and decision-making support to our client relations team
- Responsible for developing strategies to support global launch and media events by providing technical support, often in unique & challenging surroundings
- Lead the team to deliver all targets in line with KPI’s and milestones; including management of internal and outsourced support providers

This entails negotiating and agreeing prices and terms with suppliers in order to achieve the best possible invest/unit costs while taking account of design, volume and timing constraints. You will be an expert in project management ensuring all parts are supplied to the required quality standard and within the planned delivery timeline. You will proactively resolve supplier problems and ensure a continued successful business relationship with all parties involved.
Qualifications and experience
You will have:
- A degree (or equivalent) and ideally a CIPS qualification;
- Experience of production component purchasing within an automotive environment or equivalent manufacturing environment;
- Experience in managing professional supplier selection processes;
- Experience of handling commercial negotiations with external suppliers;
- Experience of project management and an understanding of new product development processes;
- Good problem solving ability required to overcome problems arising from specific cost, quality, time and logistics issues;
- Good interpersonal skills with an ability to influence key stakeholders.
