Assistant Buyer

We are seeking an Assistant Buyer with experience in a buying environment for the Laura Ashley Furniture Buying department. Reporting to the Buyer, you will ensure the smooth running of the furniture buying department and have key product development and range building responsibilities within this busy and high-profile department.

It is preferred that you have experience in sourcing and product development within a furniture or homewares category. You should also be able to demonstrate good negotiation and presentation skills and manage a critical path process.

The role involves supporting the Buyer in all aspects of the buying function, to build the range and trade the department to meet their profit targets and deliver the Home strategy. You will need to liaise with suppliers and internal departments across all aspects of the buying process. You will be commercial and aware of external influences and would be expected to conduct store visits on the high street and report your findings back to senior members of the team along with suggestions on how we can improve.
